Missionaries to the Southeast Asian Community
Gregory and Nickie Byers have been active in ministry from their conversion experience in 1997 through evangelism, unconventional outreach methods, and in-home bible studies. Carrying a special burden for lost souls, they saw a need in their local Asian Community and provided practical resources such as English second language classes (ESL), citizenship preparation, and support of Asian-owned businesses. This allowed them to establish strong relationships that led to revival in the local Asian communities.
The Byers’ have been active in short-term missions work on foreign soil for the past 24 years. The last eight years they have invested works in the citizens, foreigners, and tribes of the Southeast Asia Region. With an entrepreneurial spirit, they research, study, and network in order to develop a spiritual presence in the cultural communities.
Ministering bi-vocationally up until 2021, the Lord has allowed them to labor more diligently and have a greater impact in Southeast Asian ministries everywhere they go.
As an Ordained Minister of the UPCI, they believe and embody the mission “the whole gospel to the whole world by the whole church”. They faithfully serve their local church in Mandeville, Louisiana when not abroad.
